The Tour

Here is a preview of our new place as promised  . . .
Backyard

This is from the back yard near our parking.  It is a row house, and we got lucky enough to be in the end unit.  Our portion is about as wide as our yellow and white awning.  You can also see the fence dividing our patio from our neighbors.

The yard is completely fenced, which is really nice with the dogs.  Our gates need a little TLC, but that should be no problem once the weather warms up a bit.

Side Yard

There is a nice little side yard as well.  It gives the dogs a nice chunk of space to roam around in.  The love being outside here, even despite the cold.

Front Entrance

This is a view of the front standing in the central courtyard.  There is a nice little park in the center of the square of rowhouses we live in.

As for a division, the chimney is our neighbor's, but the two upstairs windows are ours.
Dining Room

This will be our dining room, but while we wait on our household goods, we have a small couch and the dog's crate here.  The door leads out to our front door.  In the middle there is a half bathroom and an area for your shoes/coats.

I was standing in the living room, but I didn't include a pic becuase it is pretty empty.  It also has hardwood floors, and there is a fireplace between the two rooms.
Kitchen

This is part of our kitchen.  It is narrow, so this is the shot you get!  We are lucky to have cupboards, and while they seem small and few, it is a lot compared to most German homes.

The long skinny separated door on the right is our refrigerator (top) and freezer (bottom).  The kitchen is on the main floor, just off the dining room.
Spiral Stairs
We have a ton of stairs!  From the main floor this staircase goes down to our basement.  There are three rooms down there, all mainly storage.  Our washer and dryer are in one of the rooms down there.

The dogs have coped pretty well with the stairs.  We thought they wouldn't like them.  They don't really seem bothered by them.

Going up the stairs will take you to the second floor, and eventually you end up in the attic.

Bathroom

At the landing of the second floor is two bedrooms and our full bathroom.  We have a tub and a separate shower stall.  Again, we are lucky to have all these cabinets!

We have a bedroom on both sides of the bathroom.  Both bedrooms are pretty big, much bigger than we had expected.  On the third floor is an attic.  It has slanted ceilings, but has a lot of usable space at the same time.  Greg will store all his Army gear up there, and we will likely keep our office up there.

That is it for now.  We will put up more pictures when we have furniture and this place actually looks like a home.  We are really lucky to have this place due to its size, location and how nice it is. Greg drives about 8 minutes each way to work.  Several of his co-workers drive up to 45 minutes each way!  Plenty of room for guests too . . .
